God is Your Helping Hand
Matthew 14: 22-31
22: And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23: And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24: but the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25: And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26: And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying. It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27: But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying. Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28: and Peter answered him and said. Lord, if it is be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29: And he said, come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30: But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying. Lord, save me. 31: And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
This is a powerful message of having total faith and trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should never question what God says or has planned for our lives. We should just do it because he says so. He says he would never leave us nor forsake us. We must trust and believe. Life is tough, and sometimes we want to hold on to the past. We may say things like this never steered me wrong, or I won’t let you hurt me again. How about; Last time I waited on God, he did not come through for me when I needed him. How can I trust one I have never seen. I will not allow myself to vulnerable, hurt, used, abused, lied to, or any other way uncomfortable.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for everything. Help me to trust you with my life and my decisions more and more each day. I want you to have control but sometimes I am afraid. Help me to trust you wholeheartedly. Help me to understand that vulnerability is okay and that you are with me every step of the way in this life’s journey. I love you, Lord. I want to know you better and the plans you have for my life. You have total control. I’m not perfect. Sometimes I may not know how to trust. Can you lead the way in my healing today Jesus? All I can do is try and ask that you be by my side. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
