Obedience Requires Meditating Upon God’s Word

Psalms 1:2

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night

The first question I have for you is: Do you have a personal relationship with God?

Second: Do you read your bible or any self-help devotions or plans with bible verses included?

Third: Are you saved?

You can go to church every week, say you are a Christian, but you must have a personal relationship with God. Get to know the Lord and allow him to get to know you. There is no perfect way to have a relationship with him. He just wants you as you are: Imperfectly perfect you. You can start various ways to develop your relationship with God. You can talk to him, you can pray, you can meditate, you can read the bible and journal, or whatever you prefer it does have to be any of these. Begin reading your bible. You can download various bible apps such as Holy Bible App with various devotions: search whatever area you feel you need guidance on. Take it as slow as you need to, as this is a lifelong journey. In some cases, you may need therapy, but if so, God will lead you there. If you are ready to be saved all you must do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that you believe God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and you are saved.

Thank you, Lord, for bringing me this far. Thank you Lord for the guidance and help you have already given me through these daily devotional teachings. This is just the beginning of my journey. I know you have so much more in store for my life. I know I am not perfect. I will have good and bad days, ups and downs win, and losses. But each of these is already perfect because of you. Thank you for loving me just as I am. Today I will begin my journey of building my relationship with you. I am ready to get to know you as you get to know me. Thank you for saving my Life God. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!

  1. 1. Yes, but I want to be closer.

    2. No.

    3. I hope so.

Thank you! What a beautiful prayer! It really rings home for me and I needed to hear your message tonight. I find having gratitude towards life whether good or bad helps bring in a healthy attitude and a closer relationship with God. I need to meditate more…just don’t give it enough priority I guess.

    1. Its takes time. Always be gentle and loving with your self. Sometimes we are out worse critics. Think of how you would respond to a friend and do that for you.
