Psalms 31:24

“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, All ye that hope in Jehovah.”

The hardest part of healing and recovery (I believe) is letting go of the past. You may feel others are not providing the support you need or comforting you. You will want to find excuses on why you can’t move forward with your life or why something or someone is holding you back. You must push through to heal and fight the enemy. You may even have to fight the part of you that is comfortable with disfunction and living in misery and pain. The truth is you are the only one holding you back and only God can set you free, but you have to allow him.

Things may seem like it’s not as good as it should be. The grass may look greener or the other side. I want to let you know something I had to learn myself; It is not always greener. The test that you try to give up on when you look for something better without resolving the issue will only manifest in another relationship or situation (Getting a divorce, parenting, family conflicts, coworker issues, neighbor issues,  starting and ending relationships, etc). Look at your life and the things that you want. What makes you happy. Know who you are before you let someone make those decisions for you. You can’t miss something you never had. Be grateful and thankful for every blessing in your life. Always speak up for yourself and know your truth.

Lord, you are in control. Thank you for everything you are showing me in my life. Help me to be more strong-willed to fight against the evil ways of the devil. Help me keep my mind on you and stay prayed up. Help me to remain strong. Thank you for all the guidance I have received and for being with me at the start of my healing and recovery journey. I know I’m not perfect I will make mistakes. I know in my heart that you are with me and. For that reason, I give you thanks in advance. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
